What's different about dismantling industrial-scale electrical assets compared to standard office e-waste.
Industrial dismantling covers a different category of asset than office e-waste — servers at data-centre scale, control panels, transformers, and other heavy electrical infrastructure. These come with risks that a standard office clearance doesn't: stored electrical charge, hazardous fluids in some equipment, and physical weight that needs proper handling equipment.
Safe teardown means de-energising and isolating equipment properly before any physical dismantling starts, and having the right equipment on site to move heavy components without damage or injury. This isn't a scaled-up version of office dismantling — it requires different expertise and preparation from the outset.
Once safely dismantled, the same principle applies as with any e-waste: materials are separated and routed to certified recovery, with hazardous components handled through authorised channels rather than general scrap processing.
